Hello beauty lovers,
STOP PRESS. I have some VERY exciting news!
Is anyone else here a diehard fan of Gossip Girl? Love the looks, clothes, style and general fabulous-ness of all the characters? Well, this winter nails inc have very excitingly created a new range of Gossip Girl polishes... just in time for the party season. Released earlier on this week, the buzz around this new range has been phenomenal. I attended the nails inc. Bloggers event this evening and met Thea Green, the creator and founder of nails inc as well as mingling with fellow beauty bloggers. There are SO many exciting new products about to be released but for now, I shall give you a little bit of an inside scoop into exactly what the new polishes come out like and which ones are the best (in my opinion, of course).
The new range is inspired by the three style icons of the show; Blair, Serena and Lily. Each collection provides a different shade of black with an overglaze to be used as a combo together. If you have seen the shatter nail polishes by OPI, Barry M and nails inc, it is quite similar to the effect, but just alot neater and more detailed as the overglaze is made of individual shards of colour.
First off, we have the Lily collection (and my personal favourite). The plum black nail polish is gorgeous on its own but when paired with the red/green overglaze, it creates a gorgeous effect which looks really classy and perfect for the party season. Pairing this with a LBD would be the PERFECT combo for your work do! I really like the way that this nail polish really captures Lily's Manhattan Socialite style and it works well for both younger and older ladies. Next up is the Serena collection. Personally, this one is my least favourite as it is very subtle to the point where you have to look VERY closely to actually see that there is an effect on your nail polish. Saying that, if subtly is your bag then this may be the polish for you! The patent black base is stunning on its own and has a gorgeous sheen to it. However, the electric blue overglaze does struggle to show up over such a prominient base colour.
Lastly, is the Blair collection. I really llike this nail polish duo- it is really fun, trendy and youthful. But I did notice that it chipped slightly quicker than the other polishes as the teal black polish base is quite thin compared to the other black bases seen in the Lily and Serena collections. The blue/green overglaze shows up a treat against the black base and if you want a quick and easy but effective look for a night out, this may be the look for you. Just make sure you put on a good finishing coat to make sure it stays CHIP FREE!
At the event, we all got free manicures from the amazing team at the South Molton street Salon, all in the with the new Magnetic Range. At first, I was a little sceptical but I LOVE the magnetic effect and its pretty fun to watch it being done too. I chose the purple colour and I must say, I cannot stop staring at my nails! LOVE IT!
If you ever get the chance, pop into the salon. The staff are so so friendly and the range of colours and treatments are really impressive. I would highly recommend the treatment for weak and bendy nails if they have been damaged by gels/acrylics, as well as the use of the cuticle oil.
Here are a few piccys from the event- and the goody bags really were DELIGHTFUL!
Right beautiful people, it is time for me to get my beauty sleep. I will be posting very shortly with reviews on new and upcoming products as well as recommending some great gift ideas for Christmas (yesssss, its coming!). GOODNIGHT, and remember to Live fast and die pretty <3
